Annual festivals, special concerts, parades, fairs, art shows, food and wine tastings, theater, holiday celebrations… you name it, Southwest Florida has it. There are exciting events happening all the time, and there is something for everyone.
Here are a few annual and monthly favorites to put on your calendar:
Farmers Market
Join them every Thursday year-round in Centennial Park west of the Caloosahatchee Bridge for the River District Farmers’ Market! This lively green market offers a variety of local produce, seafood, baked goods, honey, nuts, cheese, flowers, plants & more for the discerning shopper.
Art Walk
The River District showcases art with exciting galleries, exhibitions, and performances every first Friday of the monthfrom 6-10 p.m. in downtown Fort Myers. Free to the public with many venues featuring additional attractions and specials.
Music Walk
The River District comes alive with live music every third Friday of the month from 6-10 p.m. in downtown Fort Myers. Free to the public with over a dozen participating venues featuring music by local and regional talent.
Celtic Festival
Always the fourth Saturday in January this festival includes Celtic music, Celtic food and drink, Celtic vendors, much more! Families welcome.
ArtFest
On the first weekend in February, ArtFest enlivens the Fort Myers waterfront with exceptional art, entertainment and children’s art activities. At ArtFest, you’ll discover high-quality, Made-in-USA original art by more than 200 artists. Whether you’re a new or experienced art lover, you’ll find something wonderful to add to your personal collection.
Edison Festival of Lights
Named the largest night parade in the Southeast, hosted annually in February. The Grand Parade is a two-hour long extravaganza…featuring national participants, local marching bands, floats, local government, and law enforcement officials. You won’t want to miss this!!!
Taste of The Town
A fun filled day for the whole family by the Caloosahatchee River in Centennial Park. This event highlights the great restaurants of Lee County. The day will include entertainment with a kiddie area, music, and featured businesses throughout the park. This annual event is typically held in the beginning of November.
Fort Myers Boat Show
This boat show is held each November in downtown Ft. Myers on the Caloosahatchee River is one of the largest and longest running shows on Florida’s west coast. Boats are displayed in-water at the Ft. Myers City Yacht Basin and on land in Centennial Park and surrounding streets. Most accessories are exhibited in the newly refurbished Caloosa Sound Convention Center, adjoining the beautiful new Luminary Hotel. It is one of the most popular annual events to take place in Ft. Myers each year. Come check it out for yourself.
