In August, I wrote about Bimini Square, Crown Development’s luxury apartment complex on Cape Coral Parkway. Bimini East is four times that scope.
At the project’s final public hearing last Oct. 21, the Cape Coral City Council voted 6-1 to approve a development agreement involving project owner Bimini Basin Redevelopment Company LLC and North Dakota-based developer Crown Development Inc. Bimini East is a 34-acre waterfront project near the South Cape entertainment district. The project includes 900 residential units, 250 hotel rooms, 150,000 to 200,000 square feet of medical space, a marina with 50 boat slips, a bandshell at Four Freedoms Park, and up to four parking garages with 2,000 total spaces.

The city’s own estimates put total economic output at $750 million and 3,400 jobs. I spend time out at Tarpon Point when I can, I know Cape Coral’s waterfront well.
What’s been missing on the South Cape side is the density and activation that makes a waterfront corridor actually work. Hotels, restaurants, a marina, public space, all in one place. That’s what Bimini East is designed to be. The developer is phasing it over 10 years. When it’s done, the South Cape waterfront looks very different.
So, if you are thinking about buying or selling in Cape Coral, reach out. This is exactly the kind of market development that is worth keeping a lookout.
